Chinese incense pot
« on: October 23, 2012, 03:33:31 am »
Hi all,
this is my first post so please bear with me in case my questions are not so smart :) I found this Chinese pot for burning incense. I am just wondering if you could tell me your best guess of what it might be worth and how old it might be. I haven't bought it yet but reserved it for me :) I will attach some pictures. If you need better ones, please let me know.

Thank you very much for your help. Oh, who could I ask to find out more about the age of the pot?

Sorry, here are some more pictures. The blue card is the same size as a credit card. The seller is asking for USD 1000. What do you think?

What is the pot made of....unless we can date it, then i feel that  @$1000...it is at its highest price...here is a bronze one late 19th century..its 9in tall and weighs 6lb. and its a third of the price....see link

here,s a link to Chinese bronze marks..from what i,ve seen out there, this one that you are looking at...will have to be something really special...either that...or it way over priced....and may i suggest you look before you leap....just type in ...chinese bronze censor...on ebay..for instance....then ...after an hour or two...having looked at hundreds...think about it....

I would not pay $100 for it. Not old and low quality.
