White Metal Statue

This has been in my family for decades. My mother saw it in a photographer's studio years ago and told my father about it. The next Christmas, it was under the tree. My dad had gone to the studio and obtained it to give to my mother. He would never reveal what he had to pay the photographer for it and he took that fact to his grave. To give you an idea of the size, it's 19" from wingtip to wingtip and weighs about 10 pounds (not including the marble base). It's hollow. The statue itself has a spike under the foot the fits into the two-colored marble base. I could find no markings, but it has a ring on the backside and a red stone on the arm. Some people that have come into my house have wanted to buy it - the most I've been offered is $200 which I have refused. I think it may be worth more than that. Any idea who may have made this or how old it is and maybe a ballpark value?

Had something like this been passed on to me...with a story like that behind it...i,would,nt even consider selling it...it was obviously given to your mother with love, and.you cannot put a price on sentmental value,

Don`t think its for sale !!  But since someone offered $200. just checking to see if it has a value and how much !!  I would be curious too !!

Any chance she's been repainted? Can you find any spot where an underlying 'color' shows through? Can you post a larger picture so we can see her detail clearer.

Sapphire, that statue looks very much like mine and about the same dimensions, although on a different style base. Very useful info. Thanks. P.S. I forgot this had been posted before.

your square base looks like its been put there as an afterthought...its quite possible the original one got broken and that was put on afterwards...

Note that the other one was gilded in gold!!
