Here are some more pictures.  My brother talked to my grandma and she didn't know much history either.  She did say this chair came with a matching couch but I'm unsure as to where that is now.  She also said, both chairs (the one pictured and the other one I mentioned upthread that was owned by another unrelated family member)were probably purchased in the Lincoln, NE area in the early 1900's.  THis chair has been reupholstered but the original tacks have been reused.  The fabric underneath is also new as well as the screws and L brackets underneath.  We believe the other hardware and springs are original.  So is there anyone here in the Lincoln area that is familiar with this style of rocker?  Thanks for all your help!   I will post some more pictures.

Give me a couple of days and I will check a list of A&C furniture mfrs !!  Will take a while so don`t get in a hurry !! I doubt seriously that your chair was made anywhere in Nebraska !!

Well, it looks like (the collective) we got the date right on. I'd say an empire revival/craftsman mix, with the emphasis on craftsman, mainly because of the beautiful quarter-sawn oak.

Agree with Mart that it was probably NOT made in Nebraska. Chicago or Grand Rapids seem much more likely.

It's not beyond reason to think that this might have originated in Lincoln. Who knows?

If it's anything like the prison industries furniture in Missouri then I doubt it. It's nice enough but not even in the same ballpark as this rocker. In any case I don't think that prisoners here were making furniture in the teens anyway; it was more like textiles and/or shoes.
