Hi - I found a similar mark here: http://www.kovels.com/marks/pottery-porcelain-marks/crown.html?eid=9632, but subscription to Kovels is needed to get the information.  If anyone on the Forum has one, maybe they could post the info?

Nice job!  Here you can see the two marks side by side (scroll down - first line of marks).  It looks like we can narrow it down to between 1902 and 1954: http://www.porcelainmarksandmore.com/thuringia/sitzendorf_1/00.php

Nevermind, it looks like this one was after 1954 (last line of marks, 2nd from the left): http://www.porcelainmarksandmore.com/thuringia/sitzendorf_1/00.php

Thank you, Mart.  You and everyone here are so sweet.  I admittedly know nothing about antiques, but after such a positive response here, I'm thinking about getting more engaged.  Plus, I have a bit of a penchant for unique items (people, stories, etc...) and love research.

Well, Knowing nothing about antiques will not last long !! We have some very knowlegable people here and they are very willing to teach you !!  Chris Marshall is one of them and an expert on porcelain although he doesn`t stop in as often as he used to !!  Just make yourself comfortable, enjoy the conversation, and before long you will be surprised at what you have learned !!  Glad you joined !!

Hi again,

I was just thinking after I looked at the piece again, it is just marked Germany to the left of the maker, would this not make it pre-1945 when the war ended after that there was West & East Germany ???

                                  Thanks,
                                   Kevin
