This does,nt look like a sideboard..it looks like a dressing table without the mirror...can you give us a pic of the rear...but if it is a sideboard..is that box in the middle for cutlery...date wise..it looks like 1930,s/40,s
I make no excuses,and no apologies....but i like a good Malt,

Its a sideboard, the top drawer is a cutlery drawer, the box on the top is a  monolopy set that we have there, there is a dining room table too. there are no holes at the rear where anything has been attached.  Any idea roughly how much it would be worth please

I agree on the date Wullie gave !!  He would know more what value it would have in the UK !!  Are the pulls missing from the side compartments ??

Wull's right on the date. Looks like late Deco made of mahogany very stylish!

i,ve seen similar ones to this at Taylors Auction house...the sides..were made of a mahogany veneered plywood that..have a spring loaded catch..whereby with a deft little push  the side door opened..value wise...as a complete set..e.g dining room suite...comprising of sideboard, dining table & chairs...will be in the region of £100/150..depending on cond....can you check if there is a makers name on it...Lebus...was a popular make...Stag..was another...

could you give us a pic of the side opened...mahogany has a fibrous grain..but to have the door curved..like it is would put a lot of stress..on it..which make,s me believe that its core is ply with a mahogany veneer..to open the side,s do you just give it a little push..the hinges should be of the soft close type..we need more pics..thats for sure...is the cutlery drawer lined with a velvet type material..and it should be sectioned....
I make no excuses,and no apologies....but i like a good Malt,

Will take some more pictures later, the doors are a lock and key and the cutlery drawer is lined with green felt

Gorgeous piece of Art Deco!  Please post a picture of the side of the drawer construction.  Look for any stamped or marked names in drawers/back of drawers, inside.  Thanks!

Well,..i,ll have to say...i,m pleasantly surprised with this construction...espe cially the doors...but it does,nt change what i think its worth...i visit here once a month..Taylors Auction House...Montrose... and you,d be shocked at what pieces like this are fetching....suffice to say...a lot of similar pieces..go up my lum.....much to the annoyance of ...KC....but i have to keep me and Avril warm..and this is a cheap way of doing it....
