Can you type out what the marks say? I can't make this out, it is too blurred, even zooming in with my browser. I'm wondering if "ATEN" is part of "PATENT"? With the script style hallmarks I think this will end up being a later piece, but we can't know for sure until we can read what it says.

Your idea of a tool and mine are miles apart...a kitchen tool to me,...is,nt a coffee pot and cream jug...now if it was a rolling pin..or a pot,..or an ashet...i,d agree...but..i suppose different strokes for different folks...take my ex.brother-in-law..for instance...he once said..the best kitchen tool you could ever invest in...was a ...woman.....which when you think about it...could be right... ;D ;D

LOL  And for a woman it would be a good heavy cast iron skillet,, to keep the men in line !! My grandmother got after my grandad with one of those years ago and he straightened up fast !!
