Fish Plate from Przemysl
« on: December 11, 2004, 11:37:39 pm »
I have a unique plate that I can't find the origin of or history. Its about 18 in long with gold beveled edges. It has two fish with grass and flowers .  On the back it reads:  Max Rosenberg   Przemysl.  Any ideas where I can find any info about this plate?
Thanks
Crowbottom

no answers from me, but some observations - Przemysl is a city in Poland.  As for Max Rosenberg, he could be the artist, or an importer, or a factory name.  My web googles didn't find a connection there - but Poland does have a ceramics industry, and much is made for export - it could be American made by Max Rosenberg in the "style of"  - - Prz-----.

Sounds like a search at a well stocked library is in order.  Sorry to have struck out.   Best wishes, KB    :(

Dear Crowbottom,
I have strong reason to believe that your fish plate was made by my great grandfather, Max Rosenberg.  I'd be very interested to see the piece, perhaps we can email?
Many regards,
Tanya

Tanya, those Posts are 8 years old and Crowbottom might not be monitoring this Forum now ......so I suggest you might try contacting him/her by sending him/her a "personal message".

And hopefully doing so will also cause the Forum "server" to create an E-mail containing your message ..... and if their E-mail address is still the same ..... he/she will receive it.

Now, .... to send that "personal message" .... just click Crowbottom's name at the upper left corner of his/her post ,,,,, and when the new window appears ... skip down to the bottom and click on that "send message" thingy.

I'm also interested to speak with D&B, as you seemed to know something about Max Rosenberg and Przemysl.
Please msg me if you can.
Thanks.

I believe someone told us long time back that D&B had passed away.
