Automotive Part or what is this?

They're made out a hard rubber type material. I don't know if they are auto related or what. Just hoping someone with more knowledge of tools recognizes them. They are 7" long and 4" high. The numbers on top are 60185 and 4.00. No other markings. The holes are 2.25" and 3" long. Thanks in advance!

I think it is a sort of shock absorber. The 4.0 could even be its kilonewton value a 4.0 kilonewton shock load is little under half a ton of force put on an object. I say this because of the cuts in it they allow the object to compress at differing rates until its maximum compression is reached in the rubber. It is just a guess based on the design.

could be an engine mount..or as has been mooted..a shock absorber of some kind....by its design..its bolted to a flat surface...then a secondary bolt...is passed through the top...the numbers will relate to part numbers....Now for the most important part....."What has this object. got to do with an antique question forum."...answer....zilch. ....

I'd guess that they are part of a 4" lift kit for some unknown application. (And just to keep it antique related...who knows, maybe someone would want to jack their 1910 International Autocar up, and could adapt them. )

Well , your item seems to be made from urethane & steel , ewarnick .

I'd speculate that it was intended to be used as a non-factory 'slop-limiter' for an automotive transaxle (aka tranny mount) .
Urethane mounts & bushings are usually much firmer than factory standard , as far as their durameter rating , and are common on performance vehicles (& wanna-be performance vehicles) .

I looked at all kinds of risers, mounts and lifts, and found nothing that matched !!   Tranny mounts that I found were all smaller and attached differently !!  Haven`t checked heavy machinery or tractors yet,, but at 4 in. X 7 in. not sure they are big enough !!  Just seems to be a guide of some sort to me but insulators bombed out too !!

Its a mount for something...maybe an engine...or to stop the unknown thing shoogling about..like a demented chicken with its heid chapped aff.....its as simple as that......in other words...i.don,t have a clue either....
