Ethan Allen Table
« on: January 08, 2013, 02:25:17 pm »
Not an antique, but probably from the 1960s. A round maple table, no leaves, with 4 matching chairs. Advertised it for $250 and no nibbles. Is that price too high?

I 'd say maybe half of that.

I would lower that price a bit and maybe offer the possibility of buying table and chairs apart?

Try advertising it at $200. as a breakfast table with Hitchcock style painted chairs !!  Ethan Allan is pretty good quality !!  An antique of the future !!

Ebay,s full of Ethan A...and very little is moving...i still think its a cheap set at $250...when you look at the 2 chairs in my link..@$299....it,ll all hinge on how much of a desperado you are...like if you need the $$ to feed yerself...then you,ll have to bite the bullet....but if they are not eating any corn then i,d stick with the $250...or you can try just 2 chairs at $250...and the table + 2 for free....you never know..someone might just bite on them..when they think their getting something for nowt....

Sometimes its all in how the ad is worded !! It has to grab their attention !!  Personally,, on this one,, I would leave "Ethan Allen" out of the ad until they ask !!

Perhaps I've mistaken the intent of this post. If the idea is not to sell the set but to keep it, then by all means keep the price at $200 and above.
