Very nice for Electroplate, and lovely case.

Is that an E or an F ? Could be Joseph Elliot and Sons, Sheffield.

£100-150.

agree valmont it if J.F & SS, EP.

Haven't found a maker for this yet.

EP means electro plated - which means a think layer of silver over a base metal body thus silver-plated!

You might want to search dessert set forks and knives to get an idea of the ballpark yours are selling for now.  Seeing alot of these popping up for sale lately.  Being boxed helps some but doesn't give the value alot of boost.  Depending on where you live makes a big difference and selling after February will help boost $$ a tad bit.  Also, when comparing yours - make sure you compare silver plated and not sterling silver!!

The only JF I can find is Friedman Silver Company but they are a "J Crown F"...so that isn't it!

These can sell anywhere from $30 to well over $150.  Depends on day.  Since yours has hallmarks (even though I cannot identify) they most likely will sell on the high end...if in excellent shape!

I'm from the South - but please don't mistake my Southern Manners/Accent/Charm as a weakness!

That has to be an E rather than F !! Listed in English electroplate is J.E & SS EP  For Joseph Eliott and Sons, Sheffield !!

They'd fetch more than $150 here in UK.

They appear to be in excellent condition, as does the case

I found your maker, it was made by Joseph Elliot and Sons. They have been in business since 1878 and they are still in business, so the best way to determine a precise age would be to contact the company. They are in Sheffield England.

The "EP" stands for electro-plate.

How is it Joseph Elliot  if the Initials are J.F?

Disagree about J.E...It is distinctly J.F and haven't found a J.F & S S like the ones on this dessert set so far.  There are lots of J.F makers in silver but in different shapes...none J.F with the & S S.

Still looking.

same exact one!   I am waiting for a reply from them. Hoping they know more about the hallmark.

Thats simple !! It tells us where to look as a likely place of manufacture even though many items made in the UK are found here we would normally look at home first !!  And since these marks are stamped into the metal, an error or a lighter contact on the bottom of that E is always possible !! And if that stamp was used for any length of time everything produced would have the same mark !! And since no one has found J.F & SS the probability goes up that it is J.E & SS !!
