So this is a bronze by Paul Dubois 1880... it has the signature on the bronze... in addition its on a marble stand.... I am not sure if its the original thing....

It maybe a homage to Dubois but it's not his. Quality of the casting is poor. Sometimes referred to in the art world as ' after ' Paul Dubois, which means it's a reproduction.

The signature mark is also different.

Not worth the $300 in my opinion but if you like it...

Reproduction piece.  At most high end stores they would sell for $250 - $350.

Nice piece - always buy what YOU like - even if you intend to resale!

One thing to watch for on a bronze supposedly made in 19th century is that copyright symbol !! It didn`t come into common use till after 1909 and many art pieces were later than that !!

The styling on the figures looks more like 1960 than 1880. Definitely a case of "after."

I would say it's worth $100, maybe a bit more.
