Reliable bantling incubator

Hey Bigwull, did I post enough pics for you? So what's you're expert advice?!

I,m not an expert..on incubators...or what goes in them....but I consider myself...a dab hand at cooking and eating...what come,s out of them.....

So is this a coal heated incubator?  Generally around this time they were kerosene heated.

It is a kero heated, air heated style. Later models were hot air and water. What do you think about the number on the bottom? Does it imply the model number or year made?

..I,ve had sweetbread....but have never thought of going the whole hog.....so to speak. ..i was thinking..more of Tandoori Chicken,...Chicken Tikka,Masala...

KC,, sounds like he bought it from that ad !!  Ad stated that they found it in the attic of the house they bought !!  He said same thing,, it was in an attic !!

My opinion for what's it worth, is that your incubator dates from after WWI. On the other hand, I know the company dates back well before that...since the following is from their 1894 Poultry Handbook.  

Our Orphans

A hundred little chicks or more,
Downy, soft and yellow.
Were peeping out their discontent
In voices far from mellow.
I looked about in wonderment,
No Mothers were at hand,
To gather beneath their outstretched wings
The doleful little band.

And as I gazed, a small wee voice
From one chick seemed to say:
“Perhaps you think we like it
This fine, new fangled way:
But, it’s very disagreeable,
For, strange as it may seem,
We never had a Mother,
They hatched us out by steam.”

“And they call us ‘Happy Orphans’,

And I’ve no doubt it is true,

This is the Library of Congress archive of their 1800`s Poultrymans digest !! I can`t check it because the files are too large for dial up !!  Reliable may have published this,, not sure !! May find the year made here !!

Your link is for the 1896 Reliable catalog / digest, which was noted as being their 11th annual edition. The incubators shown have much bolder, heavier turned legs than the one being discussed here.

This publication from 1914 shows a reliable bantling that looks very similar design wise, only its a larger capacity model.

Some other ads from the 1890s show a reliable bantling that has no legs and sits near the ground.

Shucks,, they just said 1800 but since its a pdf file I couldn`t read it !!
