Camel Saddle
« on: January 25, 2013, 02:24:30 pm »
Hello. I have this camel saddle and I was wondering if anyone has any idea how much it could be worth. I know it's from India and it's probably from the nineteenth century. Thanks.

what makes you think its from India?....i,m not a camel seat expert....but...do know enough to say...that India is doubtful...if it is from the east...unless its got made in India stamped on it..i,d say...a country..within Asia  is more likely...as for the design..it looks like it could be for a Bactrian camel...value...i don,t have a clue...but can only judge from what others are advertised for...which can be between..£100 to £350.....
I make no excuses,and no apologies....but i like a good Malt,

Thanks for your reply. The only thing I really know is that it was bought in India, which made me assume it was also made there. It's not stamped, but it is made from wood, steel, and brass. Thanks again.

That guy on the link had another one too !!  I find his shipping ($150.) a bit excessive !! My western saddles shipped FedX and was only $37.50 !! From California to Texas !!

Wouldn't sell that high in my neck of the woods.  The wooden/leather padded ones bring $80 to $140 in our area.

$50 - $75 for this one - just for decor purposes.

Maybe if we all have camels they'd be more in demand. ;D
