Anyone have any idea of the value of this piece
« on: February 06, 2013, 10:39:26 pm »
I found this at my dad's place and have been trying to find it on the internet to see what it's value might be and can not find much of anything like it. My dad is 90 years old and he told me that his mother got this from her mother so it has to be close to or over 100 years old. Any help would greatly appreciated.

Just a quick message on my way to bed. DO NOT toss that!  Not sure on exact $$  value, but definitely collectible.  Do an image search for ... antique garden jardiniere with pedestal... and see if you find similar. Give other, more knowledgeable members a chance to chime in and I'm sure you'll get a clearer answer.

BTW, welcome to the forum!  ;)

Can you please do a better CLOSE UP pic of the pedestal, bottom of pedestal and pot and inside of pot?  Thanks!

Really hoping to see a legitimate Roseville mark on this!

Garden antiques are on the upswing,, could be higher that these values if sold individually and is marked as Roseville !!  Need to see those bottoms !! Would have to go inside my house,, not in the garden,, for sure !!

Arts and Crafts Roseville. Agree with Mart that it may well be worth more, possibly $750, even $1K if cleaned up and sold in the right market.

They both went for $375

different style, $700

The first two sold in 2006/07, the second in 2010. Looks like a nice trend in sales  ;)

HA  ;D ;D "great minds often think aalike", ..... I wasa thinking Roseville when I seen the picture.

But now I was thinking that Roseville didn't always mark those jardinieres and/or pedestals, ....... did they?

yeah but also the last is slightly more unusual in shape.

Same design
http://www.liveauctioneers.com/item/61168

2003 - $1000

http://www.liveauctioneers.com/item/3573455

2007 - $650

www.liveauctioneers .com/item/11118623

2012 - $250.

Prices are inconsistent and the OP's looks to have some wear.

First off thanks for the great responses from all of you. I will definitely go to my dad's today and get some better photo's to post. I did look on bottom of the bowl and the bottom of the pedestal and didn't see any writing, is there somewhere special I should be looking?
thanks again

Look for a RV ink stamp and possibly Mostique. I posted shape/size markings in an earlier post above^. Hopefully it will have one or more. I have seen some listed that didn't appear to have markings.
