French perfume bottle, circa 1920's! That makes sense--the piece has both classic elements (i.e., the stopper), and more modern deco elements (i.e., the linear cage around the bottle), and Art Deco came about in France around that time, I believe. Could this maybe be classified as a transition piece? It seems to have a foot in both worlds. Another example: it has modern, machined elements...but the bent wire was attached by hand, and the spacing isn't perfect.
As for where I got it, would you believe Value Village for $3? They sure missed this one!
