Owner of Estate Sale "agent" says they are from the 1800's. They want $2250 for the set. They where at $4000.

They look odd, the colours seem wrong, the gilding is poor. Such a vague description from the seller also suggests they don't know.

Are they porcelain ?

Whilst they are not my cup of tea,....either,..until we know more about them...we can only guesstimate.their value,.I would take what the estate agent says with a large pinch of salt, after all he is only trying to l maximise his commission...and he is dangling the carrot....by saying they have been reduced from $4000...to $2250...my advice would be...if you have this kind of money to spend...do not be fooled by sales talk...find yourself a named piece..that at least can be verified...
I make no excuses,and no apologies....but i like a good Malt,

That would be a problem !!  Nothing from the 1800`s can sit around anywhere and stay very clean !! I don`t care how good a housekeeper they are !! We can tell more with the pic !!  From the pics above,, they look like pretty new repros !!  Even if they are that old,, they would have to have a quality makers mark to be worth that much even after price was reduced !!  There is certainly no age showing in the pics !!
