K.T. & K. Co bowl
« on: March 02, 2013, 06:13:34 pm »
Hi, I've been searching for information about a bowl I have.  I've done quite a bit of searching and haven't found a similar one.  Can anyone tell me anything about it?  I did find that the mark is Knowles, Taylor, & Knowles Company.  The color is close to teal.

Thanks!

Can anyone identify the pattern?  I'm redoing my dining room and I'm using this as a basis for a shabby chic type decor.  I wanted to see if I could find some matching pieces.  If anyone can identify the pattern, what do you think is a price range?  I see a lot of affordable pieces out there for KT & K, just nothing that matches this.

I think this might be a basin,,not a bowl !!  Depending on its size !!  Bowls ususally didn`t have that fold over edge !!  They would be too hard to wash !!  A wash basin would though,, it would have been more decorative !!
If its a basin there would possibly only a few matching pieces if any !! Maybe soap dish or something and of course the pitcher !!

Thanks for looking, I've been cruising Google, eBay, and even museum shops for hours, ugh!  Then I stopped looking for that pattern and tried to find a complete dictionary (for lack of a better word) of all their patterns and nada!

Checked that with Replacements.com. mart, I read what you wrote so I tried putting in Basins as you suggested.

KT&K did not name many of their patterns !!  Best you can do is to use descriptive terms to find them !!  Try searching for the flower !!  Looks maybe like a peony !!  Can`t see it well !!

It is a bowl to a wash basin set !!  Are there any other numbers on the bottom ??  Sometimes the pattern run was written on bottom !!

Belleek ?

No. You put anything like a jug in a Belleek bowl and the cracks would be visible from space. I've only ever considered them ornamental, wheres this was obviously made to be used.
