 for the first pic : A pair of carriage lamps American  or  england
ca 1890. Brass, black painted metal and glass. Height: 40, 41 cm.

second pic:British miner's lamp
British miner's lamp (Wales), 1920 ca. Consists of white metal, brass and glass. Subject puck with mythological animal foil and caption Cymru (Wales). Height: 18 cm.

This is a Davy Lamp...so named after its inventor..Sir,Humphrey Davy...this one is i think a minature one,as they are normally around 30cm...prices vary..from as little as £10...up to £100,s

When I was at an antique store in Florida this past weekend, oddly enough found what I know to be a REPRODUCTION carriage lamp that easily passes for an aged/authentic one.  First time I have come across that!  They did a real good job on it!  Was amazed, impressed and disappointed all in one!

I would have to see a better pic/close up of them to say anything after experiencing this!
I'm from the South - but please don't mistake my Southern Manners/Accent/Charm as a weakness!

Im would sure be cautious about the Carriage lamps !! Don`t think I would buy them for authentic !!  No experience with the other one !!

i bought 4 of these..JR 150 speakers..they were incomplete...no outer foam..everyone in the saleroom swerved them...bar me,they cost me £4.80..i sold them for £900..
I make no excuses,and no apologies....but i like a good Malt,

Nice ! Got sod all to do with those lamps though

A few lots earlier, they've called a magic lantern a " A German home screening device ". Some of their " ivory " netsukes also look more like resin.
