Austrian Tiger has seal and stamp on bottom no chips or scratched. measures 17 in long 10 in wide 7 3/4 in tall

the stamp on the left says made in Austria WITH SOMETHING ABOVE IT ( NOT SURE ) and the right says VIENNA AUSTRIA KERAMOS

From what I,ve been able to find...this is a 1920,s model.Art Nouveau..Siberian Tiger...that..are worth a fair bit of money..in the region of £200/300...a small one of only 5in sold for £76...

on the high end...which might be more than what i,ve said...but at £300 = $451...you could try ebay..and list it for worldwide..

I did try ebay and only got one person interested and he was from Austria but would only give me $70 for it. the shipping was $85.00

That,s ebay...its a buyers market..but at least that tells you something...an Austrian wanted to buy it for $70 + $85 postage...then it is worth more...but..finding the right buyer..take,s you back to the needle in the haystack...all i can say is..if its not eating into your corn...then list it on ebay free listing days..let it run...and hope for the best...

This is a later mould. The glaze, base and marks are more mid late 20th than the factory's 1920's pieces - in fact other than the marks there's little resemblance.

Quite possible that someone has copied a mould or even the marks.

having been around the world and back again..i will amend what i have said earlier regarding the age of this ornament..after what i,ve seen on various sites...I would say that this Tiger is most likely a Barwig model,Barwig being the sculptor for Vienna Keramos./.dated from the 1950,s... my valuation..remains. ...but like i said...its a buyers market....as i found out a few months ago when i sold a limited edition capo......

Do you think so ? The Barwig Siberian Tiger has more detail and is better defined.

Although this one has the bigger pair of knackers  ;D

Think this is a later repro / mould. Similar to the Barye bronzes that flood the market.
