Ballerina Oven proof platter
« on: January 15, 2005, 12:45:12 pm »
I have a small serving platter about 8" long by 4" wide and about an inch deep. It has pink, blue, green and yellow roses and other intricate patterns along the rim. It is in fairly good shape and only has one small chip at the edge about 1/2" long. It does have some age cracking in the glaze.
On the back is a very clear logo that has a Ballerina in the middle with the word "Ballerina" across the picture and with "Universal--Oven--Proof" and Union Made In U.S.A. around the logo.
If anyone has any information on this item I would appreciuate it.

a site with history of the Ballerina line:

and a mark & example:  http://www.epier.com/BiddingForm.asp?1029698

If condition is less than mint, value could be $10 - $12 to someone who collects the pattern -      :(      KB
