Yep !!  And we don`t even have one of those !!  We have Wal Mart, Brookshires and Super 1,, and one Spanish speaking store !!

Well, If you wanted them,and they are very tasty...complain to Wal-Mart...they own Supermarkets over here, e.g. Asda,...and they sell them,...along with Persimmons...or Sharon Fruit, as it is called by Israeli growers...which i may had is one of the very few fruits that do not contain any seeds,they look very much like a Tomato, but are pale orange in colour....

Persimmons grow wild here !!  Excellent eating in the fall, but they have plenty of large seeds !!  Never heard of one that didn`t !!  Are you sure they are persimmons ??  Even the oriental variety have seeds !!

The Persimmons/Sharon Fruit that we get here is different from what grows in America...
ours has no core or seeds,see link,..read ,Sharon Fruit...the American Persimmon,s ..latin name is Diospyros,Virginiana ...the seedless type is the Diospyros Kaki....

Interesting !! Never heard of that fruit !! Of course in Texas,, how would I ??  If it ain`t apple, orange,grapefruit or banana,, we don`t have it !!,,, Well, not that bad but close !!

I've got a wild persimmon tree in the back yard!  Tasty but full of seeds!!  Not like the commercially grown ones that are larger and have more flesh to them!

Those oriental variety that they grow commercially are not as good as the wild ones !!  Come to think of it,,we also have muscadines, and you haven`t lived until you have had muscadine jelly,,blackberries, wild plums also excellent jelly, native pecans  !!! All Free !!! So being in the boonies isn`t so bad after all !!

How do you know...you,ve never tasted a commercially grown one...i can only go on what is available,and they are very good, and until i taste otherwise...then..t hese are the best...and i,m not spitting seeds,and there is no wastage, and at 4 for £1..or $1.50 to you, they are good value...

Our commercially grown persimmons are different though and we have plenty of them !!  Wild ones,, sugar sweet, cost -0- just have to eat more !!
