4 generation-old wall clock HELP

Can anybody please tell me what can I do to repair these injuries in the clock's pendulum? The injuries were made in the attempt to correct a failure using some pliers. Its really a shame to whatch this beautiful clock in this state. Please, any tips or advice will be great.

your pendulum..look like it is kaput...may i suggest you look for another....one,....Large Klaus... :D.

If there are no holes a good metalsmith could probably repair and replate it but finding one might be a trick !! I would suggest taking exact measurements and looking on ebay for a replacement !!  Many times a clock case might be damaged beyond use and the parts are put on ebay !! Just remember if you look to replace it,, everything has to match on some of these old clocks !! Look for the same maker if possible !!

If you care to take the measurements..and the weight...i might be able to help....I have a couple of wall clocks that are for decorative purposes..only...an d they would,nt miss their pendulums..and if i,m right in assuming..by your nom-de-plum...that you might be German..and hopefully there, then I,d gladly post them to you....FOC...

Is it a brass facing over a metal weight, and can it be taken apart? If so, I would think an automobile body man could do a decent job of smoothing it out. Good Luck.

I'm mighty curious as to what "failure" you thought you were going to correct when you bent the ell out of the pendulum. ::) ::)

I would be looking for a matching replacement and old time clock/watch maker to restore it to as close to original. We still have one of those old boys here, hunched over his bench and surrounded by clocks in all stages of repair.

I don't think I've ever seen a clock with a monogramed pendulum before. A very personalized treasure!

I should have been more specific.  ;) I'm assuming that's what it is........on the top of the pendulum, engraved in the wood (again assumption)
