Help with this old music box
« on: April 04, 2013, 07:55:15 pm »
This was a music box (I think) at one time. It says Bruno and on the bottom is crossed arrows with the numbers 8247. My grandmother bought it at an antique store many years ago. She has passed on over 30 years ago and she was in her 80s. I was told this is very old. Looking for info and value on this item.

I think these were of Japanese origin from the 1970's, in slightly different models, and were marked with various pseudo trademarks. I found a sampling which varied in price from one that sold on eBay last year for $104+ shipping, up to this one...WOW!

Nice price for something from the 70s!

Did a bit of a search last night and this appears to be one of the knock offs of Armani's Organ Grinder........now if it was signed by Armani, made in Italy.....you'd be looking at it with brighter eyes.  ;)

It was thinking it should be older than the 70's. My grandmother had it when I was a little girl, I am 55.  It says Bruno on it. I was looking around on the internet last night and wouldn't that be Bruno Merli?

You would have to go back and match the signature and all markings with his originals to know if it was !!  That number would be the style number so it would have to be the same as others like it !!

From all I could find yesterday Bruno Merli did not use that signature !! He signed B.Merli with the Capo mark of crowned N on all his work !!
