Looking for a box
« on: April 10, 2013, 02:26:16 pm »
Hi all.  I'm new here.

I'm looking for some information about the box pictured here.  It is a long story, but I am looking for one to replace this one that was lost.  Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you for your time.

To be honest, I really don't know a whole lot myself.

This box was something my fiancee' lost in the process of a divorce.  It belonged to her grandmother (northwestern PA) and she used to play with it as a child.  She's in her mid-40's, so this would have been mid-70's, I assume.  From the pictures her mother gave to me (seen in my original post), it appears to be about 4" x 4" x 4".  She says she found another one, but it was in bad shape, so apparently it was not a one-of-a-kind item.

I know nothing more than that, unfortunately.  I want to replace it "on the sly" because it meant so much to her.

Again, thank you for any direction or information anyone can share.

I really wish I could see it better. If it is from the 70's there is probably one to be had somewhere but without search terms it is hard. What was it made out of? How was it finished?

it reminds me of the box from Hellraiser...it looks like its inlaid with porcelain...with a mahogany frame...4in x 4in x 4in..= trinket box ..or it could be a puzzle box....
I make no excuses,and no apologies....but i like a good Malt,

Just found out from her mother that it was made of metal and painted.  She doesn't know the origin of it or what it contained.  It is definitely pre mid-70's in age.
