Agree that this has more than one language on it!

Can you please advise if this is a hanging lamp/lantern?  If it fits on a pedestal/table lamp?
Please post a picture of the entire piece.

It looks like someone spelled apology with two Q's instead of O's. I think it is stoned art from someone who had nothing. better to do in the 1960's

That is the entire piece. This is a hanging lamp and its is a simple light socket inside of a lantern type globe about 18" wide and 16" tall. Wire backed with painted cloth or paper cover. Found at an estate sale in an upscale area. I was unable to talk with any family members due to a hosted estate sale.

No it was not !!  Wasn`t kidding though !! I have seen similar lamps or lanterns for Chinese New Year and other holidays !!  They were rice paper covered and hung through the holiday season !!
Wonder if Ipcress could translate ?? Or at least tell the language !! He has done a few others !!

Is it paper? I thought it was glass. It looks like one of those 60's swag fixtures with writing on it. I am probably way off target.

Is just the globe and a simple lamp socket. Hangs just from the power cord out of the back of the lamp socket. Is paper or cloth that is painted with a wire frame. the Chinese Lanterns I have seen have horizontal wire this piece is vertical wire frame.

I don`t think the direction of the wire would be important !!  And may be another country with similar customs !!  For that matter could have been made here in U.S. !!  Huge Chinese population in most cities !!

I have tried to use the translators sites online but I can not type these characters or copy and paste them. I have searched the different keyboards available online and from Microsoft to find these characters but have not found them. So I have been searching and questioning at sites like this one where I can show some pictures. Thanks for all the looks and help.
