Probably a dumb question and pretty sure it's not very old. Only paid 50cents,bought it just out curiousity. It is ceramic with no marks. Perfume bottle?

Yes Perfume atomiser...worth a few $$ more than 50c...buy something like this and if you can double your money ..for 30 days on the trot, you,d be able to retire... ;D

Well,that would explain the little bit of water that was in it. Plant mister did cross my mind but thought it was a little to fancy,I use a plastic spray bottle!

It is indeed a plant mister !!  Handy for African Violets !!  Dollar store sells them !!

PLANT MISTER!!!!!!!

Cracked me up....perfume atomizer!!!  I guess if you  need to wear that much!!  Bet you can put after shave in it too!!!  :)
