We'll start with the rolling, measuring device. Actually not even sure if it's that old, but it was in a box full of other antiques, so I thought I might as well see if anyone knows what it is. You put it on a surface and as you move it, the needle moves telling you the distance. Strange denominations though.

Next is a drafting kit, that I THINK was either used by my father in Vietnam who was a helicopter pilot. Or by my Grandfather who was in WWII and was in the Corps of Engineers.

They are all marked with F.A.P and have a strange looking peace sign on them.

Lastly we have a Swedish Straight Razor made by C.V HELIESTRAND and on one side it says MK no.8
I have found a few things about the company and other razors, but not about this model.

Thanks again everyone for the help. I think I only have 1 more thread to post after this. ;D

Here's a link to a forum with a discussion about the different Heljestrand MK models. Didn't read all through, but maybe you could join and post  ;)

The measuring device is an mechanical analog map reader. Roll it along a map and determine the distance by reading off the matching scale. I believe you can still buy a new one for $20-$30.

Nice old drafting set. The thing about those sets, is that the first one you bought was also your last one...they never wore out, and nobody ever threw them away. The value on the older sets never seems to match what you would think they should be worth. (Those ruling pens seemed to make good roach clips back in the 60's...at least yours didn't suffer that fate. :o)

This is a prime example, of "lost in translation"..when i first saw the topic heading..re, Drafting kit,..i thought it was going to be about, army drafting...as our spelling of this is "Draughting"..as to the Open razor.or Cut throat,as it was known here,..this was a stock tool of the Teddy Boys..in Glasgow in the 1950,s...and it was used for "chibbing"..e.g..slashing an opponent...

The rolling device also looks like the device I would use for measuring distances on blueprints for estimating. The only thing is I do not see any 1/8 inch to 1 foot scale on it. It would make sense being found with a drafting kit.

Yepper, it is a blueprint measuring distance measuring device.  That and the drafting kit are nice collectibles but you won't retire on them.

Razors are hot right now....so there are collectors out there....

Maybe I'm wrong, but unless that measuring wheel has double faces, it would be confusing to use on a blueprint.
Those are different map scales on the face: 1:25,000 to 1:200,000
