Coal Iron questions
« on: May 03, 2013, 08:30:41 am »
Hello,
My wife bought this Iron at a garage sale a few weeks back and I can't seem to find a whole lot of information about this iron. Most I have seen have a rooster on the front of it. The only real marking on it is the letter "G" on the handle. It is 8 1/2 inches wide, 8 1/4 tall with the handle and 4 inches tall excluding the handle. Does anyone happen to know anything about this? Where it's from, what years, and a value to this type of Iron? Any help is appreciated!

The ones I found with a similar design were either European or made in Mexico !! Only G I found was Grossag irons and not sure if it was an American or Canadian company !!  Yours looks European to me !!
