antique brass urn
« on: May 10, 2003, 06:31:35 pm »
 I acquired an old brass urn mounted on a black marble pedestal The entire piece is 16 inches tall and weighs 16 pounds. The square black marble base has 2 brass eagle heads with dangling hoops on the right and left sides. The front has a bronze   lion's head. On top of the 6" base sets a completely bronze with   Greek gods and goddesses carved all the way around the widest part, it then tapers to a 3" opening to a depth of 3". It has 2 bronze knob-like handles at the top. Does anyone know anything about this piece, I cant find any other markings on it. I'd really appreciate any info someone might be able to share.
