Barber Chair
« on: May 21, 2013, 10:11:44 pm »
Hi all! A friend of mine is getting ready to move and can't take some things with him. This barber chair was something his dad had and he isn't able to bring it along on the move. I don't know much about barber chairs but do believe certain ones are collectable. I told him before he gets rid of it that we should find out more about it and it's worth. There was only a small plaque on the back of the chair that says "Dieli Barber Supply 246 Middle Street B'P'T'., CT. Phone-Ed-4-0693" If anyone can help us out with some more information we'd really appreciate it, thanks :)

Beautiful condition. I'd say it's 1950s. I'll have to dig around for value.

There should be a manufacturer's name on the drop-down foot rest. The tag on the back is most likely the jobber's address. From here, the chair resembles a square seat Koken. ???
If everything works, somebody would like it for a few hundred dollars.

If it's a Koch then they're asking around $300 or so on E -bay.

Thanks for the quick responses! Bigwull, the images are showing up on my phone and computer normally so I'm not sure what you mean, I'll address the problem asap once I know, my apologies.

Bigwull, that old IBM PC system won't work hooked up to your a Zenith Black and White TV. You could try putting foil on the antenna

He meant the pics were not flipped before you posted them !! Kind of hard to tell much when we are having to look sideways !! Bigwull has a laptop so he can turn it !!  I am not that lucky with my notebook !!

Notebook vs Laptop. What is the difference? I know they say one is lighter than the other but aside from that the boundaries seem undefined to me.

It's so nice to read read the regulars posts...sound like a bunch of ladies at a sewing party!!!

Please look for any lettering/names on the foot rest and/or the hudraulic section of the chair and let us know!

Thanks!

Thanks for all of your replies. We checked out the foot rest and it says Koken!
