Replica Stradivarius Violin
« on: May 29, 2013, 06:34:53 pm »
I have a question regarding a replica Stradivarius Violin. I have the case along with the bow. I went today to get it looked at just because I have seen some replicas worth an okay amount of money. The man at the store was more amused with the bow then the violin. This one in particular is nothing fancy as strings have been broken and such. I just want to know if someone thinks it can be worth anything. If so I can take time and go get some pictures. Thanks in advance.

Oh yes !!  Strad copies are pretty common but some of the bows that are found with them are pretty pricey !!  Don`t worry about the horsehair !!

Is it a printed label with the year written in pencil / pen, probably the last two digits ?

My initial reaction is early 20th and worth about £50. Bow looks damaged and is lacking the frog.

Ah, right

Still think it's pretty standard learning or school violin
