Ginger Ale Sign
« on: May 30, 2013, 02:26:50 pm »
Hey guys,

I bought an old Ginger Ale sign the other day. I have tried researching it on the internet but I can't find any signs the same (I can only find signs similar). I am wondering what year this sign would be from, and what it's value might be. Since I couldn't find any information on the sign itself I did some research on the company and there was some pretty interesting facts: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pure_Spring_Company

Here is a picture of the sign:

Thanks
Kevin

Nice! Are you in Canada? How big is the sign.

Remids me of the old WC Fields line. We saw a sign on the road that said "Drink Canada Dry." So we drove up there.

The graphics look more like 1955-65.

Pure Spring was produced in Ottowa!

They actually bottled water and sold it...as well as soda!  Sold to Crush in 1962!

Some exported items with same logo!

Many of the signs for same product, same era, are different in Canada than in U.S. !! Not really sure why but many companies have a different variation of same sign for Canadian sales !!  May not be a huge difference and doesn`t really make a difference in value !! So if you are looking on ebay for this one,, may have to look at those in Canada to find same one !!

Is that a porcelain one? I can't tell from the picture, but it doesn't look like it to me.

I've been a busy man lately. Starting a new business and having the existing one take off with new clients has been hectic. I'm going to try to make more appearances, because I like this place. :)

Anything new on your end?

Same old stuff !! Not doing much with gardens going Gung Ho !! Maybe at the end of growing season can get busy again !!  Many antiques on ebay took a severe downhill turn last couple of months !!  I just look around and see whats moving and how much !!  Primitives, wooden ware and farm collectables were pretty hot,, but not now !!
