You might be correct Rauville, the recycling centre that i rescued them from, was in Arbroath, which has a small shipyard for building wooden hulled boats....and seeing Cogars pic now makes me think,it was used for holding the ribs,of a wooden hull,..thanks for helping out....

Here we go, lol  Aren't they just clamps? If you put two pieces of wood with glue, you use these to keep those boards from moving. Oh, believe me I could think of ways to use them though.
