antique curved sword

found this at a flea market a week ago, the guy I bought it from said he thought it was African. cant find any info anywhere on it so I dont know if it was for chopping sugar cane or heads. It has a large fuller groove going down the center of one side and it was sharpened up the inside curve and around the spear point at the tip. 2' 3" long, not quite a sword, but more than a knife. Stumped on this one, thanks for any help!

steel, and it looks to be layered forge welded steel too which is in keeping with tribal forging methods

I dunno on this one , but it does sound as if it is 'machete' size ...

There were quite a few 'one-off' blades used rather infamously in Rwanda (& other countries) ....

Could be for reed-home-building , as well as the scarier stuff too ...

thanks fancypants! the handle style is the same as the top pick so Im pretty sure its African now, maybe its better not to know the rest...

From the size and the way its made looks more like a brush cutter to me !!
