I decided to take a day off from the renovation work,..its been doing my nut in...and as it was Avril,s day off we decided to go for a run in the countryside,we did,nt have to travel far,as we live within sight of the Grampian National Park,..we headed up Glen Esk,..at a snails pace, so that we could take in the countryside,and,the wildlife that abounds,there,...the glen is only 15miles long...well, the road is only 15,the rest is by foot,..which rules me out,as i can,t walk far,...lazy old git, as Avril sometimes says,We had a picnic by a small river,and we took some pics....Me on a throne with my trusty hound,..and Avril and I, and then on the way home, we stopped at our local charity shop, and I got these two beauties,..I don,t think they are old, old, but, I liked them..and they were cheap...@£2 each,perhaps i might take up smoking the weed.....No...not, M.A.D.s  ;D

What great pictures! Love them. You and Avril are a very cute couple. The pictures made me smile. The Meerschaum pipes are nice too!

The Pipes, are,nt meerschaum..they are clay pipes,...i,d say they,re probably 1920,s,...but, the might be younger...who knows...one has an Irish theme to it...Harp and cloverleaf

Wullie you certainly have a thing for pipes. Seems the last pipe you were messing with had you crawling on your knees........don't be letting these ones have you out flat on your back!  ;) :D

That is a beautiful countryside! The pipes remind me of my Uncle's and how they used to smoke pipe tobacco. I can remember the smell and I actually liked the smell of it when I was a kid. If I remember right, my dad used to smoke a tobacco pipe once in awhile. So long ago. I don't see anyone doing that these days.

I love auctions/antique stores! I love old photos & books. This is the best group on the internet. :) I try to get on often, but I've had 2 brain surgeries & a back surgery. The pain is awful so I don't get on as often as I would like. It doesn't take away my love of old stuff.

some more pics....including a rickety old wooden walkway over a small river....10 miles from our house...we also visited  the White & Brown Caterhuns...which are two Iron Age hill Forts, near to where we stay....just google and you,ll get all the info...

Nice pics.  Thanks for sharing.  You two make a dandy nice looking couple!!!  Beautiful!  Love the bridge!

If I can find it we found a pipe in the old items from the family cabin....need to post pics and see what people think.  So...where did I put that thing.....
