I think my teapot is old and not to compare with the one your show in the e bay page . The holes from the drain are also hand made . And the decoration is more Iznik style or east European ?

i,m not comparing the one i showed, i,m using it as an example as to what yours is,...as for the holes on yours, ..of course they will be hand made,..how else would a potter get the holes in the first place....

having had a good search around....i am inclined to agree that this teapot...may indeed be of Iznik...or Turkish origin....its called a Caydanlık...in Turkey.....

That's maybe a good way to search now on the Turkish name . I think this teapot because it is porcelain and the gold decoration is gold that it could be quite old .

It's not very old.

Wouldn't know what it's worth but i'd guess not very much and you'd have to pay me to have it !  ;D

I do not agree with about value and age . So we just have to wait if somebody recolonizes the style preciously .

Spot on bottom looks to have been made with a warmer over a tea light ect  !! You can`t estimate age by gold decoration !!  Half of what was produced during the 20th century had 24K gold trim !!  Since gold doesn`t change over the years that would be difficult !!  Not much age showing on this teapot,, I think mid century at best !!

Gilding is a novices trick of making something look older and more valuable than it is.

My guess is it's modern Russian or bordering countries.

There is no wear on the bottom at all.  I don't believe it's very old, but that doesn't mean it's not an interesting piece.  GG
