Are you digging or buying?

I'm buying - haven't dug any bottles up since I was a young kid! and I didn't know what they were back then.. when I would go to my grandparents cottage with them I would go to abandon houses and dig them up along the tree lines. Used to find lots of old liquor bottles!

The problem with digging is you may need a tumbler. I'm one day to have access to a privy. I always get close and then plans are changed at the last minute. We have a small construction company that rehabs old buildings and houses.

What's a privy? I like exploring old abandon houses and stuff but I've never really found anything, usually just empty buildings.

And thank you very much for that website Mart! I'm sure I will be spending a lot of time on there too!

I had my antique shop in an old ten (yes 10) bedroom house that had originally served as a rooming house since the 1890's.
Some years ago, a friend and well known privy digger dug 5 or 6 sites in the backyard. Amazing amount of early stuff came up. The only thing I kept was a glass kerosene finger lamp that had survived the years without getting broken or chipped. I always could picture someone going out at night with their lamp...and setting it down. Whoops, where's my lamp? ;D
