Please help identify Folk Art

I am currently selling a unusual tin butter churn that is hand painted and signed by an artist W.Johnson 85. It's appears to be some kind of folk art type painting but any info on the style would be appreciated. I've tried researching the name but have come up empty.  Can anyone out there tell me the best way to research such an item. I'm getting a lot of questions that I don't have answers for.

Your churn is only unusual because someone decided to paint a picture on it.

There are hundreds of artists around the US who paint such pictures on circular-saw blades, cross-cut saw blades, etc., ...... and sell them as "decorator" craft items at flea-markets, etc.

Those Herefords needed some horn weights when they were young'uns. :D
