So What is This Iron Thing?
« on: June 24, 2013, 08:03:15 am »
It has a crank and the horizontal plate with the teeth turns. This should be easy. I have no idea however. They guy has two of the and there were a lot of farms in the area at one time. It was wedged between two shelves and I was afraid I would cause a catastrophe if I tried to move it. I would guess all the open work was to help to clean it. The glass jar is not part of it.

I know, I know...it's a "Corn Sheller". Put in one ear at a time and end up with a empty cob. Yours even has the little attachment on the outside so you can get those last few kernels off the small end of the ear.

Here's a high priced example:

Wow. You really nailed that one. The only difference is the example you showed had the red paint. The tag on the one in the picture was for 85.00. I could have gotten it for a lot less but my wife was rrrrrr..rr..right. I don't need it.

Looks like "farm sculpture." I think your wife was wrong about the rocker but right about this.

Just had an unusually good year for corn !!  Everything fell right !! Gave corn to half the community,, other half was too lazy to come pick it !!
Same with green beans !!

you,re out on a limb here ghopper...nobody said anything about spoiling....but since you have brought it up,...i,d give Avril the Moon if i could...and she,d do the same for me......but we don,t have a spoiled life.....we enjoy..every waking moment we have together....mind you its a different story when i,m sleeping....She want to throttle me... ;D....she just can,t stand my 76 decibels...belting out continuously....
