Scottish Cheese dish ,

  Hi, its been a long time since I was here...... I have a Scottish (so the owner said) cheese dish that is at least 55 yrs old,no markings,and I have been searching all day to no avail to try and find anything out about it or worth, I would appreciate any and all help[/img]

These were common in the 1900,s,it can also be used as a butter dish,...i,d say this one is late Victorian,or early Edwardian,...even although it has a fair bit of age to it....without a makers mark, value is therefore low....i found this one on ebay....so this will give you an idea on value....but i,d say if it is,nt eating into your corn...keep it and enjoy it,....they are great, for cheese,as cheese is best served at room temprature,..so stick yer block of cheese in this an hour or two before serving....
