from experience....plast er...anythings...do n,t fare well when left outside ...this would degrade, in no time....do as KC has suggested ...give it a coat of stain/varnish...to give it that aged look, and keep it indoors...don,t listen to ..G,acres.she must have..been on the G&T,s....again..... ;D

Couldn`t do that Greenacres,, first rain and it would crumble unless completely sealed and water proof !!
