Photograph of unique ship
« on: July 11, 2013, 12:49:12 pm »
I seem to remember remembering a story about this, but it has slipped from my old mind. We would love any knowledge on this ship.

Is this a personal photo or a picture from the internet?  Reason why I am asking is there is a great site tineye.com that can help you.
TinEye is a reverse image search engine. It finds out where an image came from, how it is being used, if modified versions of the image exist, or if there is a higher resolution version.

Good suggestion , KC !

To my first glance it looks like a WW2 troop ship (rubber rafts) .

I've tried a reverse search on google. It is a personal picture.

I seem to remember it having something to do with the number of smoke stacks

Also, no name or number makes this unique. Name may be covered.

Is there any maritime museums near you? You could also check with one online by sending them a picture.

It looks like the USS President Lincoln....this was a troopship in WW1...or possibly the Grant...which was her sister ship....

I agree with Bigwull on it being a WWI era ship.
There's a good selection of single stack vessels to compare it with here.

It may not be old enough.
