Need help identifying a antique stamp machine???
« on: July 18, 2013, 12:38:48 am »
I recently acquired a antique stamp machine, I don't know much about it though so any help will be greatly appreciated.  All I know is that is has slots for nickels and the one side for a 10 cent value and the other for a 5 cent value. It has a plate that says Coffman Stamp Vending Machine, Manufactured by Coffman Manufacturing Company, Fort Worth, Texas Patent applied for no. 238.

From what i can gather, this was designed by Samuel Coffman , and there is a list of items in a collection here, including stamp vending machines.

The patent was acquired by Horace B. Bushnell and others c1911 , who set up a company with offices in Kansas City and Dayton.

This could be worth several hundred dollars so it's worth contacting them at the above website. Likely this is unique or one of only a handful in existence.
