Carbide Bicycle Lamp
« on: July 19, 2013, 03:19:52 pm »
Hello all,

I found this carbide lamp and want to find out more info about it. I believe it is a P&H 'Panther' series lamp.

Any input would be much appreciated.

Regards,

Clint

it is indeed a P&H carbide lamp made in Birminham...UK the correct name is Powell & Hanmer...date wise, early 1900,s and up until mmid 1920,s,..value varies from £35 right up to £80,ish...but its dependant on condition...the body is most likely made of nickel, this one you have should clean up well, if you gave it a mild caustic soda bath...if you need any info on how to go about a restoration..just let me know and i,ll guide you through it...

I make no excuses,and no apologies....but i like a good Malt,

Hi all,

Thanks for the info!

Bigwull, I would appreciate some tips on cleaning this up! I was going to ebay it but I feel that if it cleans up well I may keep it and utilise it somehow!

Regards,

Clint
