Llama (?) Glass Top Table
« on: July 23, 2013, 06:50:08 pm »
Not sure the origin of this table. It's awesomely hand crafted, with metal detail at the eyes, and two block of wood that interlock to create the stand with a glass top. Any leads?

OK. That is the most bizarre thing I have ever seen on this site. It is like who decapitated Pokey and his three brothers. I am at a loss to even comment on this. Surreal may sort of describe it. It sure works well with the floor covering.

Frogpatch I know! It's weird. I really like it though. I can't tell if it's like a diy project some random person made or if it's somehow special.
And thanks Bigwull for the picture posting! I couldn't get it to work on my old computer!

Yes,, Thanks Wullie !!  What is your location and where did you find this table ??  Its a bit odd,, but interesting as folk art !!  Remember all the people here that were going into Llama ranching a few years back ??  Then again it could be a cultural thing !!

Although not my cup-of-tea....I really like the table.

Agree it looks more like folk art.  However, Mart.  If you recall in the late 90's we had lotsa' imports in this area with colorful and bizarre furniture such as this.

Would also like to know where you are lcoated!?!

Hi KC and MART.
I live in Oakland, CA, got this table at a joint estate sale in Jack London square about 2 weeks ago!

You know,, I didn`t think of this before but it is similar style wise to McKenzie-Childs furniture !! Theirs is a bit wild color wise and would be like them to have something like this !!

Mart, i think it is the same in that the artist took liberty to add their own style/flavor to the furniture.  But am sure it isn't Mc's.

Oakland Ca. That could have come from anywhere in the world. Especially the Pacific rim.  Like you said it could be the creativity of a local artist. We may never know. I actually do like it in the right setting. It is whimsical

Mart, the more I looked at the picture I realized what made you think of Mc's furniture.  It usually has black and white squares/blocks in alot of it....look at the llama table pic again...the black and white rug with the other colors!  :O

By-the-way....like the rug too!!!

Haha...the more I look at it, reminds me of a modernized version of Gumby's friend Pokey!
