This is another recent purchase that I'm a little puzzled with. It's an Old English Pewter Hand Hammered Footed Sugar Bowl and another footed bowl that I'm not sure would be used for?
Both the bottoms of the bowls have stamped Old English Pewter Hand Hammered. The "Old" seems to be stamped over with another hallmark or something on both bowls.
Both bowls measure about 2 1/2 inches in width and have cobalt blue glass inserts in each of them. The Sugar Bowl came with the hand hammered spoon. The Sugar Bowl also has a lot of numbers written on the bottom of it.
Does anyone know what the second bowl would be used for, what the stamp over the "Old" is, and when they may have been made (I'm thinking early 1900's)?
Thanks!
Kevin
