raphael soyer
« on: August 02, 2013, 08:19:28 pm »
This is my  last time with the pics if I cant hit on this one  lol. I just bought it at the auction a while ago. I found the pic on the computer but that's all. I'd like to know the value. The back says Madison ave. nyc. I forgot to take a pic of it. If this one isn't worth the paper its printed on im going to line all my pics next to the fence and put a $3.00 tag on all of them.  lol As many blunders I've made ,I should come up with about $50.00 for all, which is a lot of pics. Well here goes. PLEASE give me good news on this one :)That's the light shining on the picture.

Just curious but are you buying all these to resell ??   Whats the purpose ??  You seem very disappointed that the others were not worth much ??  Maybe if we know what you are trying to accomplish we can help !!

I just don't want a lot of cheap worthless pictures.  When my bfs mom died she had 2 very old pics on her wall. The family had them checked out since she had them for so long and they were both worth a pretty penny. It just got me into buying them now to see if I could do that. We have the pics hanging on our wall now and wouldn't sell them for anything. But it seems like I keep getting duds  lol,  Guess I need another hobby because this one sure isn't working out for me. That's really the only reason.By fall i'll probably just take them to the good will or somewhere. I would just like to see if I could make money off them also, im not saying I would but i'd like to say that I could especially to those who keep telling me im just wasting my money on them and will never find an expensive one.  ;D

Prices of artwork that are within most peoples budget will go up and down like the stockmarket !!  Rarely do the prices stay stable !!  You trying to luck into a good one without knowing a few basics would be unlikely !!
You may have done better on this last one !!  Soyers worked in lower east side of NY so the label on back would fit !! Looks like an etching but,, could also be a less expensive print !!  Can`t tell much from your pics !! Don`t guess its numbered anywhere ??  Also what size is it ??

now I just found 2 on ebay  although I don't put a lot of trust in them. One wanted $48 another asking $100. That's why I don't put a lot of trust in them. They just say what they want, not what they are worth.

One is signed by M Gernand  dated 1956. under the signature. Its a vase of flowers with a small stutue of an Asian lady I believe.  The other is a huge, huge one of horses. I believe its signed by Winters. I cant make the first name out right now. We have cathedral ceilings so I have to get a ladder to look for sure.  I will when I get back. I have to go get a load of cow feed right now.
