Just curious but are you buying all these to resell ??   Whats the purpose ??  You seem very disappointed that the others were not worth much ??  Maybe if we know what you are trying to accomplish we can help !!
I just don't want a lot of cheap worthless pictures.  When my bfs mom died she had 2 very old pics on her wall. The family had them checked out since she had them for so long and they were both worth a pretty penny. It just got me into buying them now to see if I could do that. We have the pics hanging on our wall now and wouldn't sell them for anything. But it seems like I keep getting duds  lol,  Guess I need another hobby because this one sure isn't working out for me. That's really the only reason.By fall i'll probably just take them to the good will or somewhere. I would just like to see if I could make money off them also, im not saying I would but i'd like to say that I could especially to those who keep telling me im just wasting my money on them and will never find an expensive one.  ;D

What style of pictures are they ? ( on the wall )
One is signed by M Gernand  dated 1956. under the signature. Its a vase of flowers with a small stutue of an Asian lady I believe.  The other is a huge, huge one of horses. I believe its signed by Winters. I cant make the first name out right now. We have cathedral ceilings so I have to get a ladder to look for sure.  I will when I get back. I have to go get a load of cow feed right now.
The name is Lumen

So both Muriel Gernand and Lumen Winter can go for a couple of thousand

My point was that you should study them, look at them in a good light and see the paint on the canvas. If they aren't glazed, place glass over them and see how the medium ( oil, watercolour, acrylic etc ) looks under glass. Then when you're out buying these you can make a more informed opinion.
Also the condition of those you posted the other day was poor. They'd have to be worth tens of thousands to retain value in that condition.

And generally still lifes are difficult to sell. Standard prints are also difficult to sell.

Prices of artwork that are within most peoples budget will go up and down like the stockmarket !!  Rarely do the prices stay stable !!  You trying to luck into a good one without knowing a few basics would be unlikely !!
You may have done better on this last one !!  Soyers worked in lower east side of NY so the label on back would fit !! Looks like an etching but,, could also be a less expensive print !!  Can`t tell much from your pics !! Don`t guess its numbered anywhere ??  Also what size is it ??Its 19 by 16 or vice versa.  the number is 5545.
now I just found 2 on ebay  although I don't put a lot of trust in them. One wanted $48 another asking $100. That's why I don't put a lot of trust in them. They just say what they want, not what they are worth.

Soyers etchings were quite small so likely this is a print  from an etching !!

Thank you, I guess I learn as I go along.  Just figured the difference between a print or a original. I thought I saw something on storage wars once when they said you had a little yellow dot on the top if it was a print. Guess I heard wrong ;D

does the size matter since I knocked it down a little? I just thought I had to measure frame and all, not just the pic.See he has a rm in the back that you can offer him for what you want. But the big rm is just for auction that belongs to another fellow

No !!  When measuring artwork the frame doesn`t count !!  Frame is not part of the art itself !! Measure art only and tell me what it is ??

I  did not say that !!  Did you look at the size on the link I gave ?? Some of his limited edition prints were larger so may have others larger !! Need to find that signature style !!  Even if its just a regular print of his etching you can make money on it !!  You may not get rich but a steady profit is good too !! You paid $6.,, with that back piece you may make $30. to $60. in the right market !!
