Fashion Picture
« on: February 24, 2005, 09:43:08 pm »
I have this Victorian Fashion etching signed by Jules David.  It's framed in wood frame and on the back side is mirror. Maybe something that sat on a vanity.  There are two little holes at the top on each side of the frame. The front side show two women dressed very fashionable with a palor setting.  This is done in black and white, one dress does show a blueish color(watercolor?).  At the bottom it is signed Jules David and on the opposit side of the picture is writing but, possible language is french.
Anyone know the value of this item.

You have a framed Victorian Fashion etching signed by Jules David. The wood frame has two little holes at the top on each side, possibly used to hang it on a vanity. The etching shows two women dressed fashionably in a parlor setting, done in black and white with one dress showing a blueish color, possibly watercolor. At the bottom, it is signed by Jules David. On the opposite side of the picture, there is writing in a possible French language. This piece is a beautiful example of Victorian fashion and art, and the artist Jules David is known for his detailed and intricate etchings. It would make a great addition to any collection of antique or vintage art, and its unique framing adds to its charm and history.
