it dryed out but when I take a pic  half the pic is black.

Assuming its a digital camera, then I don't think drying it out will cure its problem.

lol  that is funny   I still have the box, it says Fuji, digital camera fine pix. But im afraid it wont either,when half the screen was black it wouldn't let me click a few different things. but im going to leave it in the rice for a little longer.

Don`t know where you are located but if its as hot there as it is here,,take the camera rice and all and put it in your car !!  That should dry it out fast !!

salt..is best for absorbing moisture....but..i feel that your camera..has suffered terminal injury....
